A WEEK OF WAVES AND SUNSETS.
PLUS MORE POLITICAL BS AND MORE.

MARCH 7th 2024 THE SUN CAME OUT AT THE END OF THE DAY
AND LIT THE ENTIRE COAST UP.

If not for my elderly dog having to go out every 20 minutes or so to relieve himself I would have missed this window. I got a ton of likes on Facebook when I posted this cellphone pic and it was followed by many more cell phone pics from others who saw it too. Gotta love those cellphones.

Here's one from Brenda McKenna 3-7-24.

And here's one from Cecil Pardis. Same night 3-7-24.

And this? This is from Kody Grondin. Great shot of the pond and sunset.
March 7th, 2024. The prelude to Joe Biden's firey SOTU speech.

Ed O'Connell was one of the most loved surf photographers in New England. A US ARMY Vietnam Veteran who saved the lives of so many ARMY Grunts in Nam in 68-69 as a Medic on board those Dust Off Hueys. He was a dear friend of mine.

When he passed on July 1st, 2014 I swore I'd keep his memory and legacy alive by giving him this weekly corner. He loved surfing and he loved taking photos of all the surfers. Not just those who could really stand out. He shot every one. As long as I shall live and breathe the salt air, there will be a corner dedicated to Ed.

ED'S CORNER March 10th, 2024

This is another pic of me at the Wall from March 2nd, 2008 surfing on the birthday of my late best friend Joe Somogyi. I apologize for running two back to back pics of me last week and this week.

COMING THIS SPRING of 2024 (April/May).
My book that I have been writing the last 100 years or so.

I apologize for continuing to push the release date back again. But a few things happened that caused a delay in getting the book out sooner. It's looking more and more like the book will be out by the time I hit my 20th Year Anniversary of this Blog. And that will be double the reason to celebrate in April. BOOK and BLOG.

And YES, there will be a book signing. And I will let you all know in advance, where and when. The book will be available in both hard cover and soft cover on AMAZON, BARNES & NOBLE, INGRAM, GOOGLE BOOKS, and KOBO PUBLISHING.

I'm pretty stoked about this project. 73 years in the making. So please be patient with me and stay tuned. The book is coming. It's just taking longer than I had originally anticipated. But it's coming.

Most of my close friends have heard some of these stories first hand. But trust me, with over 100 stories, there's a handful that none of you have ever heard. It's true. Be patient my friends.
It's all coming in the winter of 2024.

BIDEN DELIVERS A FIREY " DO OR DIE" SPEECH.
He did what he had to do this night. He fired up his base and more importantly he went after the CLOWN PRINCE. He kept referring to him as his "Predecessor" but we all knew who he was about. Look, I didn't want Joe Biden to repeat a second term. And I certainly don't want 45 to return to the Oval Office. I personally wanted someone new. But that didn't happen.

Nikki Haley bowed out after SUPER TUESDAY. And so too went our hopes of someone new. Someone with fresh ideas and hope for the future. Instead we are stuck with what we had in 2020. And that blows my mind. How the hell did we end up with these two again? Too bad. I think she would have made a good president. Maybe in 2028. I hope I'm around to see it.

Back to Biden's speech. I gave him a solid A-. I would have given him a higher grade but he started to slur his words in the middle there and there were signs of his age seeping in. Some people think he gave the speech of a lifetime. Some claimed it was his BEST speech ever. Like I said, I gave him an A-. That's pretty damn good. Put it this way, there's NO way 45 could have given a speech like Biden did. He is incapable of doing anything even close to that. And speaking of 45. His minions were out in full force.

MJT was dressed like the QUEEN CLOWN that she is. By the way, it was illegal to wear a political hat in that chamber. But like her guru they don't play by the rules and laws of the land. Otherwise, he wouldn't owe $500 million dollars. After Biden's speech the GOP had Senator Katie Britt do a rebuttal.
And oh my God did she completely lose it on live TV. I had no idea what the hell she was doing, but man, it was beyond comical. Talk about a drama queen. She should get some kind of acting award as best supporting female actress in a comedy. She was a total whack job.

And last night on Saturday Night Live Scarlett Johansson did an amazing job as the psychotic Katie Britt. I can only imagine what the real Katie Britt is doing today. She must be hiding in the basement of her home, or in one of the cupboards of her kitchen. Her 15 minutes of fame was brutal.

And tonight is the OSCARS and I know it's too late but damn, Scarlett Johansson earned herself a place on that stage with this performance.

I know a lot of you MAGANUTS are upset with both Biden's great speech and Katie Britt's meltdown. But hey that's politics. You just have to remember when the Fuhrer used to have bad days in Nazi Germany. The Third Reich was very concerned there when the Americans Hit The Beach in Normandy and then marched towards Berlin. They felt the walls closing in. I suspect some of you MAGANUTS with enough actual intelligence might be feeling like that. I mean head to head in November? Biden wins hands down. But 45 is facing more than just a surging old man in the polls, he's facing 91 felonies and 4 criminal cases. That has got to weigh heavy on you MAGANUTS. Hang in there. Maybe he won't go to prison. Maybe, he just fades away, like COVID.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO March 6th, 1836

I grew up watching the Walt Disney Davey Crockett series starring Fess Parker. I loved that series. I became obsessed with the Alamo and wanted to know everything about it. I read every book and magazine article on The Alamo. Every time I went to the library as a kid, I would run over to the history section and read about the Alamo. I loved John Wayne in the ALAMO in 1960. Up until but my favorite movie about The ALAMO with Billy Bob Thornton as Davey Crockett, John Wayne's was my favorite. But the Billy Bob Thorton ALAMO was the best. It kept closer to the script of what actually happened during that time period. Plus they covered the battle of San Jacinto. Where Sam Houston avenged the deaths of those who died at the Alamo when he captured General Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna. And that's also where the famous battle cry came from. "Remember The Alamo!"

I'm not sure how I missed the Sheik at Biden's SOTU address, but there he is next to that barking hyena Marjorie Taylor Greene. Clearly if Trump is the CLOWN KING she surely must be the CLOWN QUEEN. Anyway, it's obvious that even Khaliddy is annoyed with this crazy Baboon. KSM has been Johnny on the spot these last few weeks. He's still freelancing for the GITMO GAZETTE. And in my honest opinion? He's doing a great job. I mean, he's still a scumbag terrorist, but his weekly reporting has been stellar. I hope they let him cover the debate between Joe and the Clown. He's become a pretty good photo journalist.

And so my friends, please take advantage of this weekly photo shop of the mastermind who planned 9-11 and resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent civilians by KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed). *Note to self -must pick up a case of MAGA Hats and matching MAGA jackets at Home Depot this week.

LOCAL SURFER/MUSICIAN PETE KOWALSKI FINALLY GOT HIS KIDNEY! And his loving donor was none other than his own wife Andrea. What an amazing Story. Both Pete and Andrea are currently recuperating at MGH. Talk about a True Love Story. Wow.

FROM 1974 To 2002. THE EMPY LINE-UPS ARE TIMELESS.

I shot these empty line-ups in 1974 and in 2002. The 1974 pics are in Nova Scotia. Chances of finding empty line-ups like this in Nova Scotia today are slim to nil. The 2002 line-up was from my 2002 trip. I'm not at liberty to say where this is. But one thing is still true today, if you put the work in and time it just right, you too can find empty line-ups like these. Photos by RALPH

I kept a daily Blog on my CATCH A WAVE FOR MOLLY surf campaign, when I surfed every single day for 365 consecutive days. Click on the Banner above to read entries of my daily journey. There's some really interesting and true experiences
that happened during that year. Some of which are to this day, unexplainable. Some are just mind blowing. But all true.

I started on July 26th, 2010 and ended on July 26th, 2011.

Some rainy Sunday, pour yourself a cup and go through the journal. Pay close attention to the month of May in 2011. Read that month and let me know what you think of that. Be forewarned it will change you forever.
